About My Clients
I specialize in supporting trans and autistic clients of all ages. I especially love supporting young people currently on or considering starting puberty-blocking medications. I also enjoy working with folks who are wondering if they might be autistic.
My Background and Approach
I have been working with autistic folks for about 18 years and spent many years supporting early communicators/non-talking kids as young as two. In my private practice (and practicum and internship), I have worked almost exclusively with trans clients, many of whom are also autistic, and I absolutely love it. My therapy style is kind, direct, and collaborative. I love to learn and have a special interest in autism, so I am also excited to share what I know with clients when they are interested. When working with youth, I center the needs of the client while also collaborating as much as possible with their families. I work to make sure my clients of all ages have agency in therapy while also getting the support they need at home. I am a clinical supervisor and have provided trainings about gender and autism to therapy centers, county health organizations, colleges, and medical providers. I also had the very cool opportunity to co-write a chapter for a social work textbook!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As you might have guessed, trans and autistic advocacy and liberation is central to my life. I created and co-run an online group for trans and nonbinary therapists in Colorado with 140 members (currently - we are growing all the time!) to promote communication in the field and solidarity amongst our community. I have also worked hard to integrate anti-white supremacy into my everyday life using a spiritual and somatic lens. I have attended a number of retreats related to racial justice and healing which has been incredibly formative in who I am and how I view the world.
