About My Clients

Are you feeling afraid and overwhelmed that an anxiety attack may occur at any given time? Has it surprised you while at the grocery store, or maybe in the middle of a divorce. The anxiety is just too much and you want it to stop NOW. I know exactly what you are feeling with the shortness of breath, constant headache, worry that the life change won't work out, and tight shoulder muscles. Anxiety attacks can be frightening. There are strategies that help and I look forward to teaching you tools.

My Background and Approach

The tools that I'll share with you are tools that I have been using in my career helping people just like you. My goal is for you to learn at least five new strategies that you use in your daily routine. So no matter if you're at the store, or at home, or at your work, you can use these at any time. I am CBT focused and include new narratives and grief work to help create relief. We'll work collaboratively to address the overwhelm and the anxiety that is bothering you right now. We'll talk about what is going on currently and how to reel the tornado of controlling thoughts back in. For the past 10 years, my efforts have been focused on helping women calm the anxiety. I attend trainings and read books that lead in the background of helping and understanding anxiety. We'll talk about what is going on in the brain when anxiety shows up and discuss ways to become more mindful of the body's response. You'll gain hope and resilience so that anxiety and overwhelm don't take over your future.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe we a humans are capable of change and we continue to grow throughout our lifespan of development. I believe we are not immune to challenging moments in life, but we can use strategies to get through and learn new ways to cope and retrain our negative self-talk. We can replace unhelpful thinking with helpful thinking. In my own life experiences, my counselors has helped me. I also come from a faith-based background that grounds the foundation of hope. My parents, though divorced and one passed away, taught me to never to be open to possibilities. As a women, I started experiencing anxiety when I had my first child, when I experienced an autoimmune disorder, and when I went through a divorce. Through my own therapy, I learned how to handle my own anxiety, fears, and move past what I didn't have control over. Most days, I'm anxiety free, but when it does show up, I'm aware of my body's response and am aware of what I need to calm me. I want you to experience that freedom, too.
