About My Clients
I work primarily with men who are looking to grow in their self-awareness and reach their greater potential in work, relationships, and personal life. I specialize in helping people manage anxiety, depression, and ADHD. I also encourage clients to explore the past, not so that they can get stuck there, but so that they can better understand and address the problems of the present to pave the way for their intended future.
My Background and Approach
I take a multicultural perspective to understand the context of one's experiences. Through narrative therapy, I help clients accept and integrate the many parts of themselves, especially the hardest parts to look at. I also use DBT/Mindfulness to support the development and maintenance of healthy habits and beliefs that lead to lasting change over time.
My Values as a Therapist
The best part of being a therapist is that the profession encourages me to be a better person. When I work with clients, it is like putting up a mirror to reflect back what they see in themselves and what I see in them. What also happens is that the mirror reflects back at me, the therapist, and I have to look at myself. It’s a vocation that requires me to be reflective of my own thoughts, biases, emotions, and personal history, as I try to be fully present to someone else’s.
