“You either walk inside your story and own it or you stand outside your story and hustle for your worthiness.” — Brene Brown

Licensed Professional Counselor in Mesa, AZ

About My Clients

I work with individuals who have trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, boundary issues, stress, issues relating to God, toxic relationships, and many other struggles. I see many individuals who come from domestic violence relationships due to my training and experience in working with survivors. I love supporting mothers in whatever stage they are in, particularly in the pre and post-partum time. I also support ministry leaders through all the highs and lows that church involvement can bring.

My Background and Approach

As a clinical supervisor and licensed professional counselor, I received a Master’s in Counseling from Phoenix Seminary and am currently a PhD student at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. I have been involved with Mending the Soul (MTS) Ministries since 2012 in various capacities, including leading groups and training churches and para-church organizations in the US and overseas. Before transitioning to private practice in 2019, I worked as the lead therapist at a domestic violence shelter for five years. I am currently working as an intern as a lactation consultant to support mothers and am getting training in perinatal mental health to become perinatal mental health certified. I come from a trauma-informed approach that integrates attachment and somatic-based interventions such as sensorimotor psychotherapy, EMDR, internal family systems, strengths-based, and solution-focused approaches.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Our bodies and brains are wonderfully made to heal, grow, and change so we can live our story today with intentionality, resilience, and healthy relationships. I hope to walk alongside you, helping you (re)discover the tools and strengths you were made with so you can enjoy your future story. One of my favorite parts of therapy is helping you discover your uniqueness. It is fun to help you use your uniqueness to grow, heal, and thrive. In my life, faith and having Jesus as my foundation have been essential in helping me navigate difficult times and heal from brokenness. I am open to discussing how much you want faith to be integrated into your therapy sessions.
