About My Clients
Sometimes life can present us with challenges we did not expect. Whether it is struggles with connecting with loved ones, a parenting journey that is more difficult than expected, or days filled with sadness and anxiety there is a path toward healing. I can offer support for children, teens, and adults of all ages that is collaborative and compassionate. I have had success in working with those dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, and issues specific to the adoption kinship network.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Oregon (#L11818). My schooling includes a BSW from Concordia University Portland and an MSW from George Fox University. In the time I have been a counselor I have worked in community mental health settings as a crisis and then outpatient provider and have gained specialized training in EMDR. I have also completed training in adoption competency (TAC) through ORPARC and have experience working with those in the adoption kinship network. The clients I have served include those experiencing depression, anxiety, PTSD, caregiver burnout, trauma, and struggles with attachment patterns.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone has a story that deserves to be heard. Regardless of the circumstances of life, we all want to be seen and accepted, and no one is beyond the ability to heal and grow. Life can hit us with more than we feel we can handle, and we lose sight of the hope we once had. In my own journey, I have had caring friends and professionals hold onto the hope I struggled to believe in and walk with me until I was ready to hold my hope again. Being the recipient of this kind of support is what led me to becoming a therapist.
