About My Clients
As a trauma-informed, first generation Latina therapist, I offer culturally and spiritually sensitive trauma-informed care for children, teens and individuals for emotional, spiritual and physical abuse, intergenerational trauma, and navigating relationship endings and adjustments (e.g. breakup, separation, family conflict and divorce). In-person and online.
My Background and Approach
I primarily practice from attachment theory, cognitive behavioral and family systems therapies, and integrate neuroscience and somatic modalities as research continues to show us the importance of listening to our nervous system, our bodies, and how past traumas leave an impact. Together we will explore your story, including family of origin, attachment, relationships and cultural wisdom and hurts. We will identify potential limiting beliefs and narratives, behaviors and ways of engaging that keep one stuck in similar patterns. We'll also engage psycho-education and practice practical tools to help you build a mental health toolbox. The majority of my clinical experiences have involved working with English and Spanish speaking women and adolescents impacted by anxiety, depression, grief and loss; and especially those who have experienced neglectful and traumatic childhoods (complex post-traumatic stress disorder) and abuse in romantic relationships.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We all have inner strengths and in greater awareness we will uniquely explore the intersections of mind, soul and body as a way toward greater holistic healing so you can more authentically step into your voice and wisdom. I also integrate Christian counseling and faith-based principles for clients who wish to explore spirituality & therapy safely.
