About My Clients
We often do not know what we want out of life, but we register a gnawing dissatisfaction. Our desire is inhibited by something we cannot name. Psychoanalysis goes beyond reducing symptoms to provide a unique space to listen to your desire, where you can let go of standards and think out loud without judgment. You can bring your history, your dreams, anything that comes to mind. As you speak freely, you will begin to live more freely.
My Background and Approach
Psychoanalysis is for those who are willing to “say whatever comes to mind.” This is easier said than done, as we often have unconscious defenses/filters that keep us from speaking freely. Psychoanalysis is a life-changing decision to move away from ordinary paths to that of our own desire, where unprecedented and unexpected changes can occur. I am a psychoanalyst in formation at the Clinical College of Colorado, studying Lacanian/Freudian practice. I hold a Master’s in Therapy from Trevecca, a Masters in Divinity from Princeton Seminary, and have extensive experience with treating mental health/addiction issues in both residential/outpatient settings.
