About My Clients
I am passionate about meeting clients where they are, no matter what challenges they come in with. The client creates their needs, goals, and desire for change in the therapeutic space, and my goal is to encourage, empower, and allow growth to be possible with endless support. I value helping minoritized individuals feel seen, heard, and valued.
My Background and Approach
I utilize trauma-informed interventions, gender-affirming care, and an integrative approach that fosters independent growth. My integrative approach, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, humanistic therapy, and sand-tray therapy, is often tailored to meet the client's individual needs while embracing their intersectionalities with acceptance and care. When using these techniques, I create felt safety with my clients in an ambiguous and uncertain world. This allows for consistency, stability, safety, and growth. While safety is a vital part of our work together, I also utilize interventions that challenge your thinking, give you coping skills for whatever life throws at you, and use creative interventions that give you the chance to express your thoughts and feelings through art, music, or play so it can do the talking for you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Societal systems and beliefs play a large role in our day-to-day lives, but we can forget that these beliefs often limit us due to the consistent narratives we hear. This is why it's essential to challenge those narratives and embrace every one of our identities so that we do not limit ourselves. With this said, I am a strong ally for the LGBTQ+ community. I also believe in equal and accessible care for mental health, more diversity in the providers who serve as mental health clinicians, and work to do my due diligence to hold a standard for cultural humility and multicultural understanding throughout my professional identity.
